Meet Renee Berry, Edcamp MetroDC Participant

Renee Berry

How are you involved in education?

I serve as the director of student support services grades 2-12. I create an implement accommodation learning plans for students, design professional development for various PD events, teach a study skills class to Middle School students and just started a Mindfulness club for students in grades 6-8. I also manage a staff of 8 learning support specialists across three divisions (Lower, Middle and High School.)

Have you ever attended an edcamp or unconference before?

This is my first!

What do you hope to get out of edcamp MetroDC?

I’m relatively new to the area so I hope to network with others and share my expertise as well from the various states I’ve worked as an educator.

If you led a session at edcamp MetroDC, what would you present?

How to teach prosocial behaviors, mindfulness in the classroom, or how to cultivate a positive classroom culture.
